Production Process

Ferrochrome Nitride is mainly produced by advanced high-temperature solid-phase nitriding technology. Selected ferrochrome is crushed to a specified size and then subjected to nitriding in a high-temperature nitrogen atmosphere. This process allows nitrogen atoms to penetrate the alloy stably and uniformly, resulting in Ferrochrome Nitride with a stable composition.

Product Features

High Nitrogen Content: High and stable nitrogen content with excellent absorption rate.

Uniform Composition: Even distribution of nitrogen ensures consistent product quality.

Easy Addition: Lumpy or granular form facilitates precise addition during steelmaking.

Performance Enhancement: Effectively improves steel strength, corrosion resistance, and low-temperature toughness.

Applications

Production of High-Nitrogen Stainless Steel: A key raw material for producing 200/300 series austenitic stainless steels (e.g., 201, 304LN), where nitrogen can partially replace expensive nickel to stabilize the austenitic structure.

High-Strength Low-Alloy Steels: Enhances strength through grain refinement and precipitation hardening.

Wear-Resistant and Tool Steels: Improves surface hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance.

FAQ

Q: What is the main difference between FeCrN and standard Ferrochrome?

A: The key difference is the nitrogen content. FeCrN contains high levels of nitrogen (typically >3%) and is specifically used for nitrogen-added steel grades, whereas standard ferrochrome has little to no nitrogen.

Q: What are the packaging and storage requirements?

A: Usually packed in ton bags or iron drums. It should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse to avoid moisture.
