Types of Silicon Metal Based on Composition

Silicon metal is available in different grades, each with specific applications. The primary classification is based on the silicon content, with common grades being:
- 98% Silicon Metal: This grade typically contains 98% silicon and is the most widely used for producing silicon alloys, deoxidizers, and reducing agents in steel production.
- 99% Silicon Metal: Used in applications that require higher purity, such as in the production of photovoltaic (solar) panels, high-performance alloys, and semiconductors.
- High-Purity Silicon Metal (99.99%): This grade is specifically produced for sensitive electronic components and solar cells, where maximum purity is essential for efficient performance.
Production Process Of Silicon Metal
The raw materials for the production of silicon metal includes silica, wood chips (charcoal), petroleum coke, etc. Silica is used as the main raw material in the production of silicon metal, and wood chips and petroleum coke are added as reducing agents in the smelting process of mineral furnace to reduce silicon dioxide in silica to silicon, forming silicon metal solution. After cooling, the resulting product is silicon metal.

Silicon Metal is packaged in customized cartons of various sizes based on the material dimensions. Small items are securely packed in PP boxes, while larger items are placed in custom wooden crates. We ensure strict adherence to packaging customization and the use of appropriate cushioning materials to provide optimal protection during transportation.
