Low-Carbon Ferrochrome
Overview & Characteristics
Low Carbon Ferrochrome is a high-grade ferrochrome alloy with chromium content typically 65%-70% and carbon content strictly controlled at 0.03%-0.15%. The product appears as silvery-white metallic lumps with density 6.9-7.3g/cm³ and melting point 1550-1600℃. It features ultra-low carbon, low impurities and precise composition, making it a key raw material for producing ultra-pure ferritic stainless steel and special alloys.

Production Process
Using medium-carbon ferrochrome (Cr≥68%) as raw material, it is refined by silicothermic method in 1600-1800℃ electric furnace, with ferrosilicon deeply decarburizing to ≤0.5%; after cooling, it is crushed into 20-50mm lumps, tested by ICP to meet GB/T 5684-2022/ISO 545:2017, and delivered with CoA report.
