Production Process

 

Primarily produced by the electrosilicothermic method: precisely proportioned raw materials including silica, lime, and coke are mixed and smelted at high temperatures in a submerged arc furnace. The calcium silicide melt obtained through chemical reaction is tapped, cast, cooled, and crushed into standard specifications (lumps 10-60mm, powder 0-10mm).

 

Applications​

 

Steel Purification:​​ Used as a final deoxidizer for deep deoxidation and desulfurization, especially in producing clean steel and special grades (e.g., pipeline steel, gear steel).

Foundry Inoculant:​​ Serves as an inoculant in cast iron production to promote graphitization, refine graphite, and improve iron properties.

Cored Wire:​​ The primary material for calcium-based cored wires used in precise secondary refining.
