Introduction to Alloy Nitride

Iron nitride alloys are alloy materials composed of iron and nitrogen. They possess many excellent mechanical properties, such as high hardness, high strength, and a low coefficient of friction. Iron nitride alloys also exhibit good corrosion resistance, resisting the attack of acids, alkalis, and other chemicals. Furthermore, iron nitride alloys possess good electrical and magnetic properties, making them suitable for manufacturing electronic components and magnetic materials. Currently, iron nitride alloys are increasingly widely used in aerospace, automotive, and other fields.

Main Characteristics

Physical Properties: Typically a gray powder, insoluble in water, with a molecular weight ranging from 145.75 to 363.08 depending on the composition.

Chemical Properties: Possesses corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and high thermal stability.

Preparation Methods
The preparation methods for iron nitride alloys include iron oxide reduction nitriding, iron salt nitriding, metal-organic framework nitriding, and molecular beam epitaxy. For example, iron oxide can be used to prepare iron nitride through a temperature-programmed reduction reaction.
