Introduction and Development of Non-ferrous Metal Alloys

Non-ferrous metal alloys are materials synthesized by adding other elements to non-ferrous metals as the base material. They are characterized by high strength and strong corrosion resistance, and mainly include copper alloys (brass, bronze, copper-nickel alloys), aluminum alloys, and magnesium alloys. Their production processes primarily employ smelting extrusion and sintering extrusion methods, and they are widely used in industries such as automobiles, building materials, home appliances, power, and machinery manufacturing. Core equipment includes medium-frequency induction furnaces and extrusion presses.

China's non-ferrous metal alloy industry has developed rapidly in tandem with its downstream industries. In 2024, the output of ten non-ferrous metals reached 79.19 million tons. Among them, the aluminum alloy market size increased from 201.12 billion yuan in 2017 to 377.05 billion yuan in 2024, and the copper alloy market size increased from 16.82 billion yuan to 28.629 billion yuan. This industry follows the policy guidance of the "Work Plan for the Stable Growth of the Non-ferrous Metals Industry," and its industrial chain covers ore raw materials, refining and processing, and end-use applications.

Industrial clusters are mainly concentrated in provinces such as Jiangsu and Guangdong. Production enterprises are improving material performance through technologies such as optimizing extrusion ratios and magnetic field treatment. In the coming years, downstream industries that demand nonferrous alloys will continue to grow rapidly, and the demand for nonferrous alloys will continue to expand.
